Government of India has taken an major initiative of developing Smart Cities in the country and called it Smart Cities Mission (SCM). The purpose of the Smart Cities Mission is to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of people by enabling local area development and harnessing technology, especially technology that leads to Smart outcomes. The project is being driven with a strong focus on sectors like Power, Data, Mobility, IoT, Transportation and Infrastructure.

With exponential rise in the adoption of new technologies, there is an increase in human dependency as well and at the same time may impose threats to the infrastructure operability, either knowingly or unknowingly.
